Arnold Martines is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer for Central Pacific Bank where he leads nearly 800 dedicated employees statewide. Martines joined the CPB team in 2004 and elevated to his current position in January 2022. In his role, he continues the bank’s founding commitment to serve all of Hawaii’s people with aloha and focuses on four key pillars: our advocacy for small business and home ownership, continued relationship building in Japan to promote and support investments and collaboration between Hawaii and Japanese business owners, and including enhancing the banks digital capability and functionality to support our customers and employees.

Martines’ banking career began as an assistant branch manager. He would soon take on more responsibility, gaining expertise in numerous senior and executive positions in credit administration, commercial and industrial real estate lending, and retail operations.

His roots go back to the tightknit community of Paauilo on Hawaii Island where he was born and raised. It was there he saw the end of the sugar cane era, which taught him resiliency, adaptability and teamwork, all characteristics he would carry throughout his life.

Giving back and being active in the community have always been a priority and Martines is honored to serve on the boards of multiple charitable and educational organizations.
