Ed Schultz is President & CEO of Hawaiian Host Group (HHG), the world’s leading roasted and chocolate covered macadamia nut brands. Hawaiian Host, Mauna Loa and KOHO branded products are sold in all 50 states and over 20 countries and represent the best of what Hawaii has to offer the world. HHG also owns and farms 4,000 acres of macadamia orchards on Hawaii island. The company has a combined 475 employees in Honolulu, Hilo, Kona, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. Mr. Schultz has been with Hawaiian Host Group since September 2018.
Prior to Hawaiian Host Mr. Schultz was President and owner of Honolulu Coffee, one of the world’s only “Farm to Cup” coffee company. Under Mr. Schultz’s leadership, Honolulu Coffee grew from 5 stores in 2008 to one of the most unique, fully integrated specialty coffee operations in the world. Today Honolulu Coffee grows coffee on 230 acres in Kona, Hawaii, roasts coffee in Waikiki and serves customers at cafes in Hawaii, Japan, Vancouver and Guam.
Mr. Schultz started his career in New York working on equity investments and leveraged buyouts for BNP Paribas and Bank of America.
Mr. Schultz serves on the Board of Directors of Tradewind Capital Group, Hawaii’s largest family office/private equity investment firm) and the National Confectioners Association (NCA). In 2023 he was awarded the NCA’s Advocate of the Year for work done to help the industry at the federal and state levels. In June 2024, Mr. Schultz was appointed by the Governor of Hawaii to serve on the East West Center Board of Governors. On a national level, Mr. Schultz serves as a member of the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank Economic Advisory Council and is on the US Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in Washington, DC.
He is also an active member of the Hawaii community and has served as Chairman of the Hawaii Chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Make-a-Wish Hawaii, Hawaii State Junior Golf Association (1st Tee Hawaii) as well as is on the board of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Schultz has also served as a guest lecturer at University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Business, USC Annenberg School of Communications, Chaminade University Hogan Entrepreneurial Program and University of Hawaii Shidler School of Business.
Mr. Schultz is a graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a Bachelor of Engineering degree.
